Biographical / Historical

Many of the architectural drawings and plans were completed by Philadelphia firms, including William S. Vaux; Morris and Vaux; Savery, Scheetz, and Savery; Addison Hutton; Price and Walton; E. Nelson Edwards; Harbeson, Hough, Livingston, and Larson; Vincent G. Kling; George Spencer Morris; Louis T. Klauder; G.M. Ewing; Carroll, Grisdale and Van Alen; Robert E. Lamb; Mellor, Meigs, and Howe; Baily and Bassett; and others. Many of the landscaping plans were created by Stevenson W. Fletcher, Jr., Director of Campus Planning.

This collection consists of architectural drawings, blueprints, site plans, and other visual works representing the architecture and landscaping of Haverford College from the 1870s to the 2010s.

Arrangement

Most materials are arranged by building or site. Groupings of plans by specific architects and landscape designers have been maintained where possible.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The majority of material in this collection was transferred from various offices and departments at Haverford College to the College Archives. Some materials were donated by individuals.

Accruals

This collection is likely to grow as additional drawings and plans are transferred to the College Archives.
