Biographical / Historical

Chappaqua Preparative Meeting was established circa 1750 as a part of Purchase Monthly Meeting. It became part of Chappaqua Monthly Meeting on its establishment in 1785. In 1828 this meeting separated into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Chappaqua Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was consolidated with Chappaqua Monthly Meeting in 1910. The last records of the Orthodox branch are from 1875, but the meeting continued at least until 1896.
