Biographical / Historical

East Hoosuck Preparative Meeting was probably founded in 1774 as a part of Nine Partners Monthly Meeting. It was set off to Saratoga (later called Easton) Monthly Meeting on its establishment in 1778. In 1783 it became a part of East Hoosuck Monthly Meeting -- the pre-Separation name of the monthly meeting which became East Hoosack.
