Biographical / Historical

Lockport Preparative Meeting, originally Royalton Preparative Meeting, was established by Farmington Monthly Meeting in 1819, although Lockport Friends met for worship as early as 1817. Royalton Preparative Meeting was set off to Hartland Monthly Meeting with its formation in 1821. In 1824, the meeting requested a name change to Lockport Preparative Meeting. The Hicksite branch was laid down in 1828. The Orthodox meeting was laid down in 1877.
