Records of the Hicksite preparative meeting include: Minutes of the men's meeting and later, of joint sessions with women, 1860-1926; women's minutes, 1851-1886; burials at Woodstown, N.J. (including burials of non-Friends), 1816-1903.

Biographical / Historical

Pilesgrove Preparative Meeting was established in 1735. At the time of the Hicksite Separation of 1827, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Pilesgrove Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) was transferred to Salem Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) in 1830. It was discontinued later that year, and its members were transferred to Salem Preparative Meeting (Orthodox). Pilesgrove Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was established as Woodstown Monthly Meeting in 1928 at the dissolution of Pilesgrove Monthly Meeting. This meeting is often referred to as "Woodstown".
