Biographical / Historical

Providence Monthly Meeting was established by the dissolution of the original Chester Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) in 1934. The records and business of the parent meeting were continued by Providence Monthly Meeting. In 1937, the meeting formed a united meeting by affiliation with the two Concord Quarterly Meetings. In 1955, Providence Monthly Meeting became part of the newly-formed Chester Quarterly Meeting. This is currently an active monthly meeting.
