Historical Note

The American Committee for Protection of Foreign Born maintained a naturalization service, encouraged non-citizens to apply for citizenship, worked for the defeat of anti-foreign born bills and policies, propagandized for all of these and for a better understanding of problems of foreign born people. Also handled some individual deportation cases.
