Biographical / Historical
Intentional Low Income Group; began around 1952; a group of people who had chosen to live below the income tax level in order to avoid paying taxes to finance war and war preparations; Mildred Ryder, who in 1953 became known as Peace Pilgrim, was a major organizer and writer for the group; describes some of Peace Pilgrim's early walks and her motivation for them.
