Biographical / Historical
Organized in 1912 in Oakland, California, the Association's object was "to promote the immediate and permanent suppresion of war between nations.." By 1913, there were "nearly a thousand members, including one Congressman, five mayors, over three hundred school teachers..and others of all classes.".
