Biographical / Historical
The Media (Pa.) Area Committee for the United Nations; founded in 1954 by David C. Elkinton, it was made up of members of local organizations and individuals who supported the United Nations' role in world peace and international relations. The Committee organized United Nations weekends in Delaware County to celebrate the founding of the U.N. and to educate the public on its role in world affairs.
