This collection consists mostly of letters, newsclippings and other material that help to document Morris' stance as a conscientious objector during WWII, and his arrest and imprisonment in 1942 at Danbury prison.

Biographical / Historical
Elliston Perot Morris Jr. born 1899, son of Marriott C. Morris; volunteer with the Quaker Reconstruction Unit for a year or more in France during/after WWI; graduate of Haverford College in 1922; conscientious objector to World War II: in 1942, he declined to register for the military draft, and was sentenced to prison for a year and a day; married to Anna Saylor; had four children; lived in Feasterville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania; dedicated member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), as well as active in numerous community organizations, including the Southampton Volunteer Fire Company, the Bryn Gweled community, and the Pennsylvania Mental Health Association; died 1980.
