Biographical / Historical
The Conference met April 6, 1934 in New York, N.Y. A set of fifteen resolutions resulted, including: the amendment of the U.S. Constitution so as to take away the government's power to prepare for, declare, and carry on war; the mobilization of workers and farmers to prevent war preparedness; and the commending of students who refused to accept military training. Following the Conference, a Continuations Committee was formed to plan and carry out the program adopted by the Conference's constituent organizations.
