It conducted a series of peaceful, silent demonstrations to protest the United States government's conduct of the war in Vietnam. Its statement of purpose was "...to affirm that nonviolence, a creative approach to life...is the only means of social change and conflict resolution compatible with man's highest ideals." The New York Workshop in Nonviolence was one of the publishers of WIN magazine.
