Biographical / Historical
Kate Richards O'Hare, a former International Secretary of the Socialist Party, was well known as a writer and lecturer on labor and socialism. She was sentenced to five years in prison for violation of the Espionage Act for a speech she made at Bowman, North Dakota. She was imprisoned in Jefferson City, Missouri from April 1919 to May 1920.
