Biographical / Historical

Peace Links; national network of women founded by Betty Bumpers, wife of former U.S. Senator Dale Bumpers, in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1982; Betty Bumpers mobilized nearly 200 congressional and gubernatorial women to speak out against the nuclear threat as a solution to global conflicts; Peace Links was committed to inform and involve more people in the movement to prevent nuclear war; evolved into a multi-faceted approach to violence prevention and peace building in American communities and the world; ceased operation in 2001.
