Biographical / Historical
Vietnamese Buddhist Peace Delegation (in Vietnamese: "Phái đoàn Pḥât-giáo Vịêt-Nam"; in French"Délégation de Paix de l'Église Bouddhique Unifiée du Vietnam"); subsidiary body of the Unified Buddhist Church in Vietnam (Giáo-ḥôi Pḥât-giáo Vịêt-Nam Th́ông-nh́ât); in May 1969, the Unified Buddhist Church sent a peace delegation to Paris, consisting of 21 members, eight of whom were monks; the Delegation spoke on behalf of peace and peacemaking in Vietnam, and sent speakers to many other countries to publicize their efforts for peace; they also worked on behalf of refugees and political prisoners; the Delegation's headquarters were located in Paris.
