Biographical / Historical
Council for International Service; also called the Friends Council for International Service. The London Yearly Meeting of the Society of Friends empowered its Meeting for Sufferings to set up a Council for International Service; work was primarily in Europe; emphasis was on service rather than mission; merged with Friends Foreign Mission Association in 1927 to form the Friends Service Council.
