Depicted are: events such as commencements, alumni days, and Founders' days; student clubs and performances; scenes of campus life; lectures and conferences; television clips featuring Swarthmore College or alumni; radio including WSRN and clips; and more.

Conditions Governing Access
Most of the collection is considered available for research use. However, depending on the format and condition of the material, access may be restricted for practical reasons. Generally, it is incumbent upon researchers to pay for the cost to digitize an item so that it can be accessed.

This collection consists of audio and audiovisual materials in various formats, collected at various times from various sources, about Swarthmore or documenting life at the College.
Arrangement
Friends Historical Library's audiovisual materials are sorted by format (e.g. VHS, audiocassette, etc.) and then numbered and inventoried in the order they are processed. Swarthmore College and Quaker content are comingled.

Most of these materials are cataloged in Tripod, http://tripod.swarthmore.edu. Later additions may only be listed in an in-house inventory. Inquire with Friends Historical Library staff.
