Biographical / Historical

Mary G. Otis was the daughter of Thomas and Susannah J. (Sherman) Otis of New Bedford, Massachusetts. She was born in 1847 and later married James H. Sherman. Her grandfather, Daniel Otis, was a Quaker until 1830, when he became an adherent of Theodore Parker.
