This collection includes letters between David Smyth and his brothers Thomas and John, regarding business and family news. Also included are notes on the Smyth family genealogy and on the Welsh tract.

Biographical / Historical
David Smyth was a Quaker merchant of Wilmington, Delaware. He was born in 1783, the son of Thomas and Mary Smyth. Among his seven siblings were Thomas, born in 1773, and John, born in 1775. David Smyth died in 1866.
