Biographical / Historical
Agnes L. Tierney was a Quaker activist and educator. Born in 1868, she was the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Hazard) Tierney. She was the principal of Sherwood Friends School and taught history at other Friends Schools. She argued for social reform and women's rights until her death in 1947.
