Abstract
Contains primarily financial and estate papers of the Charles Thomas family of Montgomery County, Pa., especially the marriage settlement and estate papers of his mother, Sarah Roberts, widow of John Thomas. Also a brief account of the family estate by his granddaughter, marriage certificates, and deeds.

Biographical / Historical
The Thomas family was a Quaker family that held extensive property in Montgomery and Chester Counties, Pennsylvania. Charles Thomas, the son of John Thomas and Sarah Williams, purchased a farm in King of Prussia circa 1829 and was an executor for his mother's estate. Sarah Williams Thomas had married, secondly, Job Roberts in 1820. Charles' son, Joseph, operated a nursery business on the family farm, and his wife, Mary P. Thomas, was an Elder in Valley Meeting.
