Abstract The collection is composed of three scrapbooks compiled by Sarah Coates Harris, Quaker reformer and naturalist of Galena, Illinois. Scrapbook 1 contains newspaper clippings that reflect Harris' activities in horticultural, temperance, suffrage, and other civic endeavors as well as biographical information about her husband and local history. Abstract Pearl Stribling, born Elizabeth Pearl Stribling was born July 28, 1883 in Iowa. Stribling was the daughter of Rev. John W. and Emeline Horton Stribling and was a lifelong Friend. Pearl lived most of her life in Earlham, Iowa. Pearl became bedridden in 1901 at the age of 18 but maintaned a large circles of friends, many of them Friends.
