The Emma Lapsansky-Werner collection holds material primarily related to the life and career of Emma Jones Lapsansky-Werner (1945-), History Professor and Curator of Special Collections at Haverford College from 1990-2005. The collection also holds records of family members from Emma’s maternal lineage dating back to the 1760s including members from the Jenkins, Parker and Hughes families.

This collection documents Lucius Outlaw’s academic career, including his tenure at Haverford College, his writing, and his mentorship of African and African-American scholars.

Programs, posters, correspondence, and recordings related to the Philosophy Born of Struggle Conference, and important yearly gathering in the subject of Africana Philosophy.

This collection contains Richard A. Jones’s poetry, prose fiction, and academic writing, as well as teaching material from his tenure at Howard University, Kansas State University, and George Mason University, and materials regarding the Radical Philosophy Association.
