Abstract

Dora Ann Gilbert (1869-1964), was Quaker librarian and genealogist from Chester, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Swarthmore College in 1893. The collection contains chiefly biographical and genealogical materials relating to the Gilbert, Strickland, Trego, and allied families, together with memorabilia relating to Swarthmore College Class of 1893, of which Gilbert was a member.

Scope and Contents

This collection includes eight oral history interviews with Jewish alumnae/i conducted by Caitlin Haskett (class of 2020) during a fellowship project, "Mid Century Jewish Mawrtyrs: A Collection of Oral Histories," through the Pensby Center between June and July 2019. Includes audio files, release forms, interviewer notes, and audio transcription.

Scope and Contents M. Carey Thomas was the first Dean and second President—a title she held for twenty-eight years—of Bryn Mawr College. Thomas’s professional and personal lives were both deeply connected to the College, and she is one of the chief architects of the college post-1894, when she began her tenure as President.
