Biographical / Historical
Begun in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1967 with a "Call to Resist Illegitimate Authority" issued in support of draft resistance and in opposition to the war in Vietnam, Resist put its energy into soliciting and distributing funds for the anti-war movement. Resist's main activities in the 1980s and 1990s are fundraising and grantmaking to organizations devoted to social change.
