Cash book, 1831 January 10 - 1858 April 27
Scope and Contents
This cash book employs double-entry accounting with cash outflows recorded on the left-hand pages and cash inflows recorded on the right-hand pages. Entries on the first fifty pages were made by Treasurer Benjamin H. Warder while the remaining entries were made by his successor, Isaiah Hacker, starting in 1844. This cash book covers the transactions of the Friends Central School Association, the original name of the Haverford School Association. The book includes information on stock subscriptions, the purchase of Rees Thomas's farm, and the revenues and expenses associated with the School's operation.
