Scope and Contents

This file contains papers related to legal cases between Waln & Morris and William Lippincott and Moses Q. Wood. It contains extracts of letters, receipts, and bills of lading pertaining to the shipment of corn meal to Wood by Waln & Morris in 1829. It also includes the cost of the court proceedings and a copy of the case between William P. Lippincott and Waln & Morris (in this instance identified as Morris Waln and Nathaniel B. Morris). There are also copies of amendments made to the case on behalf of the defendant and the plaintiffs. The file also contains Wood's bond to Waln & Morris (in this instance identified as Samuel Morris Waln and Samuel B. Morris), subpoenas sent to various parties, and a statement from 1837 regarding the execution of a mortgage by Moses Q. Wood.
