Building Committee receipt book, 1832 March - 1838 April

 Item — Volume: 47

Scope and Contents

This receipt book was maintained by Thomas Kimber, the first treasurer of the Haverford School Association. It lists in detail the transactions of the Building Committee of the Board of Managers from March 1832, nineteen months before the School opened on October 28, 1833, to April 1838. The transactions prior to the School's opening pertain to the construction of Founders Hall and the creation of the Haverford farm. Most of the transactions after 1834 involve farm operations, overseen by the Farm Committee of the Managers.
