Scope and Contents

This cash book employs double-entry accounting and records receipts and revenues on the left-hand pages and disbursements and expenses on the right-hand pages. The primary source of revenue was board and tuition while expenses were divided into the following categories: salaries and wages, provisions, school house and grounds, incidentals, stationery, furniture, fuel, library and apparatus, and farm.
