Friends Central School Association Stock receipt book, 1831-1835
Scope and Contents
This receipt book provided receipts to the subscribers to the sale of stock at $100 per share in the Friends Central School Association, the original name for the organization that was chartered as the Haverford School Association on April 4, 1833 and later became Haverford College when the charter was amended on March 15, 1856, granting the School the power to confer college degrees. The book includes stubs on the left and detachable receipts on the right. A note on in the inside of the front cover reads "Book of checks and stubs for shares in Friends Central School Association/Haverford School Association 1833-34."
