Bellingham-Whatcom Weekly Peace Vigil: Weekly anti-war vigil in front of post office. Signs include, "Whatcom County Peace Vigil. Consider the alternatives"; "Why Not Try a Friendly Foreign Policy"; "Peace is Patriotic" and "Honor the tradition: Nonviolent civil disobedience" with the names of prominent pacifists. On the back of print is written, "Jan. 11, 2002. Weekly vigil now in 36th year at Bellingham's federal bldg. A Quaker professor, Howard Harris, commenced it during Vietnam War.
