Draft counseling and draft resistance, circa 1960-1985
Scope and Contents
The Poughkeepsie Meeting House served as a site for events organized by the Draft Counseling and Information Service of Dutchess County, and many meeting members overlapped in membership.
The first folder includes 1980s material about those who were conscientious objectors and Selective Service non-registrants, lists of counselors, some program information, very occasional meeeting minutes, and correspondence and minutes around ideas of a Quaker draft resistance support network and conscientious objection in New York Yearly Meeting, including their Conscientious Support Committee, and Quakerism more broadly.
The second folder is 1960s-1970s case files and notes compiled from various sources, some with redaction and some without.
