Scope and Contents

This journal documents the receipts (revenues) and payments (expenses) for the Haverford School from its first day of operation on October 28, 1833 through the closing of the School in September, 1845, until it reopened in May, 1848, and to the end of the 1850-1851 fiscal year in April, 1851. The receipts are categorized into board and tuition and stationery. Expenses are categorized into salaries and wages, provisions, incidentals, furniture, stationery, library and apparatus, school house and ground, fuel and light, and farm and stock.
