Biographical / Historical
Established 1974 by John C. Whitehead to help with faculty salaries and to support sabbaticals, research and other faculty enrichment projects. “It seems to me that one of the dangers inherent in any small college is that its faculty members may become overly cloistered and isolated from developments in their chosen field to the ultimate disadvantage of their students.”
