Memoranda on possible application to Sloan for support of a program for the education of minority scientists. There is no indication about an actual application or receipt of the grant, but other documents suggest it was. Memoranda on preparation of proposal to bring “greater understanding and use of the computer to the social sciences and humanities.” A grant of $10,000 was made by Sloan for planning the project. Haverford’s proposal did not receive the major grant awarded but did receive the “consolation” $25,000 grant to support implementing the plan. There is correspondence with and memoranda about the Sloan Foundation’s “New Liberal Arts Program.”
