Historical Note

The Milcah Martha Moore Fund, often referred to as the M.M. Moore Fund, was established in 1827 after the death of Moore, who wanted to fund education for underserved and impoverished young Quaker women from her community of Montgomery County, PA. The fund was created under the Gwynedd Monthly Meeting with eight hundred dollars from Moore's estate.
