Scope and Contents

This collection includes lecture notes for a talk given by Dean Putnam Lockwood on the architectural history of the Haverford College Library. The notes discuss the design and construction of the building, notably making reference to its cathedral-esque qualities, as well as providing a short history on how it came into existence. Two versions of the talk are included, the first having a combination of typed and handwritten pages, while the second is entirely handwritten.

Who Put the "Anna" in "Quakeriana" ?, 1958

Scope and Contents

This folder contains a single poem titled "Who Put the 'Anna' in 'Quakeriana'?" The six-stanza poem was written by Dean P. Lockwood for Anna B. Hewitt, the Assistant Curator of the Quaker Collection at the time. Lockwood makes several references to the "Treasure Room," a common nickname for Haverford's Quaker and Special Collections department. Over the course of the poem, Lockwood laments the loss of Hewitt and praises her commitment to the collection.
