Abstract

Evangeline Walker (later Andrews) was a member of the class of 1893. She was one of the founders of the Alumnae Association and the organizer of the first May Day at Bryn Mawr. The Evangeline Walker (Andrews) scrapbook contains Walker's one-volume scrapbook. The scrapbook covers Walker’s sophomore-senior years at Bryn Mawr, from 1890-1893, and consists primarily of Bryn Mawr memorabilia.

Jacqueline Pascal Morris Evans papers

Abstract

Jacqueline Pascal Morris (later Evans) (1886-1947) graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1908. Following her graduation, she and two cousins, Agnes and Alida, travelled through Europe for three months. Their route took them from Paris into Switzerland, and then down the Italian peninsular. They returned the same way, travelling along the French Riviera before their return from London. This collection contains 26 letters, written to Jacqueline’s father over the course of her travels.

Abstract Evelyn Jones Rich (BMC 1954) was the first Black residential student of Bryn Mawr College. While at Bryn Mawr, she was active in Students for Democratic Action the Bryn Mawr League, and the Self-Government Association. In 1954, she graduated with a BA in Political Science, and continued her education at Hunter College (CUNY) where she earned the MA in Social Studies. Abstract

Lucy Fairbank was a member of the Bryn Mawr class of 1935. She was born into a prominent Chicago family, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Fairbank. At Bryn Mawr, she was involved in theater, field hockey, and the Bryn Mawr League. The Lucy Fairbank scrapbook houses the one volume scrapbook created and kept by Fairbank. The scrapbook, which spans 1932 to 1933, is small and contains mostly photographs taken at Bryn Mawr and during Fairbank’s vacations.
