Abstract Lydia Sharpless was born 1885, the daughter of Isaac Sharpless, then the president of Haverford College. She was prepared by Westtown Boarding School in Westtown, Pennsylvania and by private study. She attended Bryn Mawr College, graduating with the class of 1908 and holding the Foundation Scholarship from 1905-1908.
