With this document, George F. Janney freed the following people from slavery: Jim (43 years old), his wife Lucy (22), and their two children Jim (3) and a younger unnamed child; Ned Brown (41); Tom (21); Nell (41) and her child Spencer (2); Rose (17) and her unnamed child (8 months); Remus (15); Davy (12); Alley (10). This document is marked as recorded by the Baltimore, Maryland County Court.

Biographical / Historical

George Fox Janney (1786-1822) married Sarah John of Baltimore. Their daughter, Mary Ann Janney, married Benjamin Jeffries of Elsburg, PA in 1845. Their daughter, Georgianna Jefferies, married into the McWilliams family.
