Biographical / Historical
Rahway Preparative Meeting was allowed as a meeting for worship in 1742 and became a preparative meeting at some time soon after. In 1827 it divided into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. In 1833 the Hicksite branch was transferred from Philadelphia Yearly Meeting to New York Yearly Meeting, where it continued until it was laid down in 1888.
