Lewis-Fussell Family Papers

Abstract Bartholomew Fussell was a Quaker minister who married Rebecca Bond at Abington Monthly Meeting in Pennsylvania in 1781. He was a member of Uwchlan Monthly Meeting of Friends at his death in 1838. The couple had eight children, viz. Esther, William, Sarah, Joseph, Jacob, Bartholomew, Rebecca, and Solomon. Lewis-Garrigues collection of family papers

Abstract This collection centers on the correspodence and family history of the Garrigues family and the Price family, to whom the former were linked with the marriage of Edward Garrigues and Margaret Price. Collection of manuscripts of the Lewis and Pratt families of Delaware County in Pennsylvania. Includes bible pages with births, marriages, and deaths, as well as Quaker documents. Of particular interest is a letter from Thomas H. Speakman to his sister, M.M. Jenkinson on an inheritance which also includes a reference to Rowland Johnson, Lucretia Mott, Clement Biddle, and James Martin at the Cherry Street meeting house.

William Draper Lewis letter to Charles Osborne

This collection consists of an 1896 letter from William Draper Lewis to Charles H. Osborne on behalf of the Haverford Alumni Association as well as a letter from Samuel Halperin to Haverford College Professor of Political Science Sara Shumer. Halperin sent the Lewis letter to Shumer in 1990.

Abstract

The Marie Leyendecker Cashel scrapbook houses the one volume scrapbook of Marie Leyendecker, Bryn Mawr class of 1944. The scrapbook roughly covers the years 1937 to 1944. It contains a great deal of material detailing the social life of an active high school and college age young woman—dances, teas, parties, theater, restaurants, outings in Pennsylvania, and NYC.

Frederick J. and Faith Ward Libby Papers

Abstract

Frederick J. Libby (1874-1970) was a pacifist, writer, speaker and fundraiser. He was the founder of the National Council for Prevention of War, 1921-1970. Faith Ward Libby (1902-1984) was also a peace activist and member of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. The two married in 1932. This collection contains their personal correspondence.
