Biographical / Historical
The Committee Opposed to Registration and the Draft (CORD) was a student organization at Swarthmore College at least from 1983 to 1991 or later. It began as a support and information group for non-registrants. Among other activities, the group maintained a collection of materials on Draft Registration/ Resistance, etc., in McCabe Library. CORD broadened its scope to educate students on the issues of anti-militarism, and involving student in activism... supporting rational non-violence. The group was open to anyone, male or female, registered or not.
