Biographical / Historical
A meeting for worship known as "Robins' Meeting" was organized in this area ca. 1738 under Chesterfield Monthly Meeting. By 1775, it was an established meeting under the care of Chesterfield Preparative Meeting. In 1804, Robins' Meeting became East Branch Meeting. The Orthodox preparative meeting was discontinued in 1833, and its members were attached to Chesterfield Preparative Meeting (Orthodox). The meeting for worship was discontinued in 1835. The Hicksite preparative meeting was discontinued in 1858; its members were transferred to Chesterfield Preparative Meeting (Hicksite). An indulged meeting at East Branch was held until 1870. Appointed meetings were held there until 1904.
