Biographical / Historical

A meeting for worship was established at Concordville (MD) by the Nicholites circa 1770. In 1798, the meeting was transferred to Third Haven Monthly Meeting; later in 1798, a preparative meeting was established. In 1800, the meetings at Centre were transferred to Northwest Fork Monthly Meeting. The Orthodox preparative meeting was discontinued in 1828. Centre Meeting was transferred to Motherkiln Monthly Meeting in 1828, then to Wilmington Monthly Meeting in 1831. The meeting was discontinued in 1832. Centre Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was discontinued in 1839; its members were attached to Northwest Fork Preparative Meeting and an ingulged meeting was established. In 1843, the preparative meeting was reestablished. In 1862 or 1863, the meeting removed to Burrsville from Concordville. The preparative meeting and meeting for worship were discontinued circa 1873
