Biographical / Historical
A meeting for worship at Chichester was established in 1682 by Chester Monthly Meeting. In 1684 it became part of Concord Monthly Meeting. Chichester Preparative Meeting was established in 1700. At the time of the Separation, two Chichester Preparative Meetings were established. The Orthodox branch of the preparative meeting was discontinued in 1880; its members were transferred to Concord Preparative Meeting. The meeting for worship was discontinued in 1883. Chichester Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was discontinued in 1914; its members were transferred to Concord Monthly Meeting. The meeting for worship is currently active on an occasional basis.
