Records of the Horsham Preparative Meeting, 1758-1959, include: Hicksite men's meeting and joint session minutes, 1758-1959; Orthodox men’s meeting minutes, 1828-1907; Hicksite women's meeting minutes, 1785-1893; Orthodox women’s meeting minutes, 1879-1886; account books and other financial records, 1811-1938; and property records, 1760-1938.

Biographical / Historical

In 1716, a meeting for worship was established at Horsham by Abington Monthly Meeting. Horsham Preparative Meeting was established in 1717 and transferred to Horsham Monthly Meeting in 1782. The Orthodox preparative meeting was transferred to Abington Monthly Meeting in 1827. It was laid down in 1907; Horsham meeting was discontinued in 1920 and its members attached to Abington Meeting (Orthodox). Horsham Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) began to meet on an annual basis in 1938, and was discontinued ca. 1959.
