Scope and Contents
Records include minutes, including the minutes of Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite)'s Joint Committee with charge of Norristown Indulged Meeting (1852-186) and the men's, women's, and joint minutes of Norristown Preparative Meeting (1861-1935). In addition to minute books, collection includes property records (including related to the construction of the Norristown Meeting House), account books, and First Day School records.

Biographical / Historical
An indulged meeting at Norristown was established by Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) in 1852. Norristown Preparative Meeting was established by Abington Quarterly Meeting (Hicksite) in 1860. Its first business sessions were held in 1861. In 1936, the preparative meeting was established as Norristown Monthly Meeting at the dissolution of the first Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite).
