Biographical / Historical

Springfield Preparative Meeting was established in 1698/9. At the time of the Hicksite Separation of 1827, two preparative meetings were formed. The Hicksite preparative meeting was discontinued in 1849. Springfield Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) was discontinued in 1903, and its members were attached to Media Preparative Meeting. In 1948, the Springfield members of Chester Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) were established as Springfield Monthly Meeting.
